Voices for a Better Future The SHARE Coalition’s Early Childhood Committee has been working on screening the locally produced “Voices for a Better Future” video and holding a panelist discussion. There are challenges facing childcare that affect those with children and even those without, as it is a community issue which you may be aware of already. While childcare is not a Petersburg-specific issue, producing pragmatic solutions that are Petersburg-specific is doable and characteristic of our island. Community member input and involvement will lead to significant improvements in areas such as: usable space, workforce development and summer programming to name a few. Please join us Saturday 10/1, 9:30-10:30am in the Wright Auditorium. There will be free childcare at indoor park at Parks & Rec for the event!

~News From Stedman Elementary Library~
Mrs. Lenhard is our Stedman librarian this year!
We have had a wonderful start to the year with all grade levels visiting the library twice a week. We have reviewed how to choose a Good Fit Book, where different types of books are located in the library, and how to care for our books. Students can generally have the same number of books as their grade level checked out at one time, and books can be kept for up to 2 weeks. Once a student is finished with a book, be sure to return it so the next person can check it out. Happy reading! Stedman Library Website: https://sites.google.com/pcsd....
~News From the Counselor~
Newsletter from our Counselor. Mrs. Etcher works with all grades on social emotional skills, and she would like to share a monthly newsletter with families. The idea is to keep everyone updated on lessons she is teaching each month.

~Safety Information~
Important safety information: When dropping students off at the playground end, please note that there is a designated drop-off area marked by the side of the playground fence and green cones. Vehicles enter the area following the arrows and drop off students between the cones and the fence. Students go directly to either the cafeteria for breakfast or one of the two front entrances. Vehicles immediately drive through and exit, alleviating congestion and keeping the area safe. If you wish to escort your child or wait and watch your child enter the school, you will need to find a parking spot. Thank you for helping us keep all students safe.
~Happy Birthday to Who?~
