High School Baseball Home Game this weekend; FRIDAY and SATURDAY, Petersburg vs. Sitka. Games are 4 pm Friday; Saturday at 1 pm and 4 pm. Come out to the ball fields and cheer on your Petersburg Vikings.
Come out and watch the High School play "The Birds" Wednesday and Thursday evenings at the Wright Auditorium.
“The Birds” is a quick Greek Comedy written in 414 BC about two aging Athenians, Pithetaerus and Euelpides, who set out in search of a better life. Tired of the crowded, noisy city full of annoying poets, lawyers, philosophers, and tax collectors, the two men decide they’d prefer to live among the birds.
The doors open prior to the show beginning at 7:00 pm, tickets are $10 at the door.

This week, the district will administer AK STAR assessments to grades 3-5, and AK Science to grades 5.
AK STAR connects fall and winter MAP interim tests with the spring state assessment.
Congratulations to our Petersburg NYO Team. They competed at the Traditional Games hosted by Sealaska, in Juneau this weekend. There were teams from all over Alaska and the rest of the United States. Congratulations to the PHS Cheer Team who earned the title of Region 5 2A Champions this past weekend in Juneau! Way to go!
Also, congratulations to the Viking Boys who were selected as the at-large team for the upcoming State Basketball tournament in Anchorage. First game will be held Thursday, March 16 at 3:15 pm against HooperBay. Go Vikings!

Region 5 Basketball Update from Juneau: Lady Vikings take on the Haines Glacier Bears at 3:00 pm, Thursday, March 9! Viking Boys take on the Metlakatla Chiefs in the Championship game Friday, March 10 at 4:45 pm. All games will be livestreamed on the NFHS Network! Go Vikings!
