You are invited to provide input into Peterburg School District's new strategic plan! Petersburg School District is working on developing a new strategic plan. Developing a Strategic Plan is vital for moving the District forward -- the plan becomes the map for the board and staff to follow. It is vitally important that the plan is developed by a diverse representation of our community.
This survey is being administered by the Association of Alaska School Boards Board Development team on behalf of our District and takes about 10 minutes to complete.
Your responses to this survey will remain anonymous and individual responses will be combined when presented to the Board of Education and the team that is being pulled together to work on the Strategic Plan. Please note responses that contain names of individuals and/or foul language will be deleted.
Thank you for taking the time to provide your input on our strategic plan. This survey will remain open through October 27th.
Please use this link to complete the survey. Thank you

Middle School parents of Basketball players and Cheerleaders, please make sure your student-athlete has had their physical exam within the last 18 months, you have both completed your portion of PlanetHS and have paid their activity fee of $50. These are required before they begin practice. We have given them grace this week, but they will not be able to practice next week until these items have been taken care of. Please contact us if there are extenuating circumstances and we would be happy to work with you. If you are having difficulties signing in or signing up on PlanetHS, please call the office and Mr. Cabral or Nancy Curtiss can help you out. Thank you for supporting our athletes during this upcoming basketball and cheer season.

Public Announcement: FEMA and FCC Plan Nationwide Emergency Alert Test for Oct. 4; Test Messages Will be Sent to All TVs, Radios and Cell Phones. This is not related in any way to recent events in the school or community, but is a national emergency alert test. This will take place at approximately 10:20 am Alaska Time.
All wireless phones should receive the message only once. During this time, wireless phones that are switched on, within range of an active cell tower, should be capable of receiving the test message.
For consumers, the message that appears on their phones will read: “THIS IS A TEST of the National Wireless Emergency Alert System. No action is needed.”
Similar to when your phone receives an Amber Alert, the alert tone is generally only played when the alert is initially received by the phone and on some devices stops as soon as the user clicks a button.
The Emergency Alert System portion of the test is scheduled to last approximately one minute and will be conducted with the participation of radio and television broadcasters, cable systems, satellite radio and television providers and wireline video providers.
The test message will be similar to the regular monthly EAS test messages with which the public is familiar. It will state: “This is a nationwide test of the Emergency Alert System, issued by the Federal Emergency Management Agency."

These changes will be rolled out as they are determined and vetted. Thank you for your patience and understanding. Your students' safety is our primary concern.

Congratulations to Charlotte Martin, Eleanor Kandoll, and Elias Ward for being awarded the National Rural and Small Town Award (NRSTA). These students earned this recognition because of their academic achievements in school and outstanding performance on the PSAT/NMSQT®, PSAT™ 10, and/or AP® Exams. They've accomplished these milestones during an immensely demanding period of their high school career. We couldn't be more delighted to share this great news.
