Congratulations to Charlotte Martin, Eleanor Kandoll, and Elias Ward for being awarded the National Rural and Small Town Award (NRSTA). These students earned this recognition because of their academic achievements in school and outstanding performance on the PSAT/NMSQT®, PSAT™ 10, and/or AP® Exams. They've accomplished these milestones during an immensely demanding period of their high school career. We couldn't be more delighted to share this great news.

The district will start qualifying new Migrant Students beginning the first day of school. Did your family do migrant activities this summer including commercial fishing, subsistence fishing, berry harvesting (on public lands outside of the borough), or logging activities? Did you participate in these activities outside of our borough boundaries? (North by Juneau, further west than Totem or Portage, or South by Wrangell) If so, don't hesitate to contact Carlee or Mara to see if you qualify for Migrant Education. Qualifying Migrant students help our schools qualify as community-eligibility schools.
