Here are 6th and 7th graders sharing their models for why the Earth experiences seasons. Students collected data on sunlight angle, temperature, and day length to create a model to explain why we experience seasons. These photos show them explaining to their peers what they figured out in a mini "poster session" similar to one they might experience in college.
Our 8th graders are diving into Speech and Debate as part of their exploratory rotation! 🎤🗣️ Under Ms. Short’s guidance, they’re researching topics, building strong arguments, and prepping for counterarguments. These critical thinking and communication skills will serve them well beyond the classroom!
One elective that 7th and 8th graders get to take this year is outdoor science. Here they are in action nature journaling at Eagles Roost beach last week. They were excited to find little crabs under the rocks to add to their journals!
Congratulations to our outstanding musicians and singers.
CONGRATULATIONS Petersburg High School Cross Country!

The school calendar has been updated: https://5il.co/2avlv
Petersburg School District families:
Updated bus route times beginning Tuesday, September 17th to accommodate for one bus to transport all of our learners due to a driver shortage.
South route riders will get picked up earlier
North route riders will get picked up later
This does not impact the afternoon drop off.
Petersburg School District Families:
Please see your email for adjusted morning school bus route times due to a driver shortage allowing for only one bus to pick up our learners.
South route riders will get picked up earlier.
North route riders will be later.
This ONLY impacts the morning route.
We appreciate your patience and apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
Due to a shortage of bus drivers, we need to adjust the morning pick-up times starting tomorrow, Tuesday, September 16th. These changes will only affect morning routes; afternoon drop-off times will remain the same.
Please review the updated MORNING bus route times:
Pick-up times will be earlier for all stops south of the school.
Pick-up times will be later for stops north of the school.
These adjustments accommodate the availability of one bus for all routes. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause to your morning routine.
Please note that students on the north route arriving late to school due to these bus schedule changes will receive an excused late slip to enter class.
The bus company is actively working to hire and certify additional drivers, but this process takes time. If you are interested in supporting our students by becoming a bus driver, please contact Angela at 907-772-2889.
If you choose to transport your child, rather than the bus, please contact the school secretary:
